Grupotel Santa Eularia

Hi

Considering this hotel as an option for Summer 2014 and have a few questions before the decision is made.

1. Are the sun beds around the pool very tightly packed together, and does it seem extremely busy? (We would be staying first two weeks July).

2. I assume the closest beach is Es Nui Blau. Is this a nice beach and are there sunbeds and umbrellas to rent, and if so, any ideas of cost?

Any other advice greatly received.

Thanks.

You are right - Niu Blau beach is closest. Nice beach not too busy. Sunbeds last year - think we paid €4 each - did not hire umbrella as we sat in shade of pine trees on the far side of beach. One typical beach cafe and one more upmarket restaurant also a few peddalos for hire.

We have not stayed at this Grupotel but walking past, the pool area and gardens don't look over crowded.

Thanks for replying

Looking at pics around pool it seems there are a lot of trees and wondered if a lot of the area is in the shade for parts of the day. Seems a silly question, but couldn't spend a minute in the shade on my hols so this is a deciding factor when it comes to booking. Any advice appreciated.

Thank you

Plenty of sunbeds across the road from the hotel at the Babylon beach bar.

Map - http://goo.gl/maps/RlOjJ You can also work out the coastal path to Niu Blau Beach.

have to say have stopped at the grupotel before and is one of our favourites in Santa Eulilia, certainly we would stay there again. Unfortunately never use hotel pools or bars so can only say grounds and rooms fine.

Just returned from an apartment a few yards from this hotel. Its very quiet and whilst there are plenty of beds around the pool its not in the same league as the Tropic gardens (Butlins abroad). This area of the coast does go into shade by late afternoon but you will soon find the best spot. The hotel have increased 'their' area outside the grounds by the coast path which must alleviate the crowds around the pool. The Babylon is a pricey bar/restaurant frequented by the white linen brigade, not exclusively though. Patsie Palmer was there while we were in Ibiza but the last time we passed there was an unruly, foul-mouthed family of 12. same as anywhere I guess. Nui Blau is rustic, get there early for a bed. Its stony at the waters edge. Typical beach restaurant at the far end serves good food, the middle one has pumping cool Ibiza sounds all day and the other end is a rustic bar, Albertros. The latter great fro a tuna salad, burger and a drink.

Not sure if you have been to this area before. Its quiet and 15 min walk from town and we have considered Grupotel for a weekend although we are already booked for 12 days next year in an apartment close by.

Have a great holiday.

thanks for replies. We have stayed in Santa Eulalia before (Don Carlos), but fancied being closer to the marina, which we really liked. Initially considered the Ses Etaques but have been put of by comments regarding the difficulty in getting beds around the pool. That said I do not want to have a bed in the shade anywhere. Keeping our options open at the moment as we do like to be near a nice beach for a change.

If a pool not important and close to the marina try Hostal Yebeshi, we stay here often, family run, dont be put of by Hostal, does not mean same in spain as u.k.
