Where to buy fresh fruit/fish?

We will have a full kitchen and love to have breakfasts on patio with lots of fresh local fruits. Where would be the best place near Humacao to buy fresh fruits and vegetables?

Also would I be able to get fresh seafood at the grocery store or is there a good local fish market?

Pueblo or Econo are pretty much there at 53 and 3. I forget which. There is also a Costo near by.

Thanks for info.

Don't have a Costco membership so are Pueblo and Econo grocery stores? Is one better than the other?

I also need to buy spices and sauces to take home, and would I find the best selection and price there also?

Yes you are correct.

I prefer Pubelo, but that is just me.

There is a Sams Club in Humacao.

Don't have membership there either. How about a Ralphs?

There is a Ralph's in Humacao. We go to Ralph's in Rio Grande -- clean, bright store, wide isles, decent selection. Reminds us of a State-side grocery store ... http://www.ralphpr.net/

Here in Humacao we have...Walmarts Superstore (lol) , Ralphs Supermarket, Econo and a few fruit stands in town but these days during holidays they may or may not be open.

Also along the road in front of the Humacao balenario vendors occasionally on weekends selling fresh avocados, mangos when in season, tamarind and other treats like fresh caught seafood and crabs and lobster.

We won't be going until Jan. 18. Have never been there before so we don't know where the Humacao balenario vendors are. Thanks so much!

Sam- the balneario is on RT 3.....going north from Humacao. It is the local road along the water. The balneario is not open anymore, though you can park outside and walk in. But as you drive up RT 3, you will see vendors set up selling all sorts of things (especially on weekends). When you get here you will understand.
