Transportation around Lamezia

Can anyone tell me the most cost efficient way to travel between small towns around Lamezia terme?

Are there buses, because the taxi prices I am finding are quite pricey?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks so much

Hi Diana

One good way is to get a train from Lamezia Terme Centrale station to the local station of the town you want to visit (if it has a station). Use the Trenitalia website to find timetables, prices and book tickets:

www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.jsp…

Taxis are pricey, so ask locals about bus services, as bus stops are usually not marked and there are no timetables displayed.

By the way, which towns are you trying to visit?

Good luck!

You might also check the Autolinee Romano bus website between towns, Linee Regionali:

Hi Diana

Have just checked the Trenitalia website, and good news!

The station name you need to enter in the search box is 'Lamezia Terme Centrale'.

Trains to Sambiase are roughly every hour - at 13mins past the hour (except not at 10.13) - the journey takes 6 mins & costs €1 each way!

Trains to Curinga are slightly less frequent - mainly at 45mins past the hour - the journey takes 10-12 mins & costs €1.40 each way.

Both services are direct with no changes.

Trains are very good in Italy, and usually run on time. Remember to buy your return ticket at Lamezia station before getting on the train. There is a ticket office, or automatic machines when it is closed.

You can also use the station at Lamezia to visit popular places like Pizzo and Tropea. These are both on the same line, and not too far to walk from the station to the town & beach.

Enjoy your trip!

All the best

Anna
