Where to stay

Hi Can anyone suggest a hotel close to or on the beach, not full of clubbers but with a bit of life suitable for two forty somethings and 2 children 16 and 15yrs old. I have never been to Ibiza before so I really am taking a chance, please help, I dont want to make a big mistake and end up in the dog house, Thanks.

San Miguel is a favourite of mine, as it is located in the more beautiful and traditional, northern part of the Island.

The only clubbers you will find there are the "lost ones" or the people who booked "allocation on arrival" and ended up in the worst place possible for a clubber to stay.

Its very family orientated and a whole lot less tacky than Calla Llonga it still has a little "old style" traditional Spanish resort feel going on there, with not too much "in your face" neon flashing, and noisy commercialism. Its popular with Spanish holidaymakers, so that says something about the style of the resort.

There is some great family entertainment especially at Club San Miguel (due mainly to the legendary Zorro) and the many other hotels dotted around the resort. There is a great restaurant, the Balasant, right on the beach which is right outside your door. The resort is very reasonably priced and is worth considering if you want a laid back and relaxing holiday.
