Princesa Yaiza family rooms

We have booked one of the hotel's family suites which we understand are in a separate block. We are a family of four with two children of 16 and 13. We are a little worried that we will not be happy away from the main block. We would be interested and grateful to hear any comments/advice about this. Thanks

Thanks Paul. I believe the family rooms are in a separate block, and you reach the hotel by an underground walkway. The family block seems to have its own pool, which could be a good thing, or not! As our children are teenagers, we just wonder if we'd be better with two rooms/suite in the main part of the hotel (or not!)

Am slightly confused. The hotel is built in a U shape. the main block over the hotel reception and restraunts face the sea and the two side blocks are side on to the sea. These side blocks are all open to the elements. (the design is very clever actually) and accessed via long corridors. Don't remember any tunnels. There are only two main pools, one saltwater and one fresh, none should be for designated rooms. There is also a very large outdoor jacuzzi. Obviously we only stayed when the hotel was brand new, but as far as we know ther have been no dramatic changes. Try google earth as you should be able to get a good idea of the hotel and pool layout

Susan449 is spot on, there is a tunnel underground that takes you over to the family side (and the gym is located over there too) have never stayed on that side but there is a pool over there and of course short walk to access main pools too. Am sure you will love it as it's a fab hotel which we've stayed at 6 times before.

Many thanks for all comments. Has anybody stayed in one of the family suites? Or has anybody with children of similar age (16 & 13) stayed in different room type?

Hi, We have stayed in the Family suites 5 times and would highly recomend it. you get 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, large open plan living area with a dining area and small kitchen, which is basically a sink and worktop. There is a small supermarket just outside the entrance door and is very useful. You can walk through the tunel to the other part of the hotel or you can just walk out and go across the road, its not very far, either way, only a couple of mins and very pleasant. The family suites have their own restaurant for breakfast which is amazing, the best breakfast we have had and we have been on many holidays, even my children say its their favourite place. My kids are 14,12 and 7 and the Yaiza is their favourite holiday. I would prefer to stay in theFamily suites as it is smaller there but you also have the full use of all the other parts of the Hotel. You will have a brilliant time, wish we were going again this year!

Thank you so much. That is just what we were hoping to hear! We could see it might have advantages, but were worried it might be more suitable for younger families, or feel cut off from rest of hotel. We really appreciate you taking the time to help; now we can look forward to our holiday!
