Can I jump in on this post?

Mmmm, this is my reply form Autoriesen, Not much wiser! Is it me?

Dear client,

if you have the plastic card, you have the new driving licence. In your

original driving licence must to be the original issue.

If your driving licence is UK driving licence, you have 2 parts, photo

card and paper. In the paper one you have the original issue

Thank you

Although not used Autoriesen, both myself and OH have only got our original paper licences which have been accepted without any problems for years. Am sure someone else will comfirm for you.

To be legal you either need both parts of the new style driving licence, or the old style paper licence and an IDP.

I know hire companies will hire cars with just the old style licence, but not sure whether the police would deem it be enough if you got stopped.

Leyland, I think you are right that if stopped by police you do need another IDP. I never realised until I read a thread on TA that you should always have your passport with you at all times too.

There are windows on both sides of the arrivals . You can stand by the baggage claim area or go through the doors to the other side, which is what I have done as they seem to serve on this side. I have an old paper license , which has been accepted no question, my daughter who now goes on as additional simply produces the photo card. I was told or read that when driving the hire car you need to have with you your passport, license and the hire car agreement. You need to produce these if stopped.
