Cash or card?

Quick question for those of you who have already visited Gouves - what is the best way to take money? Are there ATMs in Gouves for us to access, do restaurants accept card, or is it worth taking a fair amount of Euros with us?

Many Thanks

There are ATMs, and like most places in Greece, cash is king!

HI there

As long as your accommodation has a safe then why not just take euros cash with you ? and perhaps a credit card or debit card for emergencies? we have been doing this now for over 8 years traveling to Crete, Greece and Italy too and never had a problem, and it does save the hassle of trying to find an ATM or worrying its going to have run out of money. Cash is always king in Crete and Greece :-)

When using ATMs you pay over the odds unless you have one of the few cards that do not charge you to make withdrawals abroad. You could use it to pay for car hire easily but not all restaurants take cards. The best idea is just to take a card for an emergency as mentioned above. To answer your question there is an ATM at the supermarket near to the top of the main street in Gouves.
