I will be staying around Kildare/Newbridge for a month this summer, does anyone have suggestions of things to do and places to visit around the area?
In Kildare, we spent several hours at the Irish National Stud & Japanese Gardens and enjoyed it.
Russborough House, Castletown House, Glendalough, and Powerscourt Gardens aren't very far away.
You could also try the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre and the Kildare Village outlet. Castletown House is fab. Maybe look up Donadea forest park, take a picnic accross the vast plains of the Curragh and visit the newly opened Curragh Military Museum which is free to enter. The Japanese Gardens, Round Tower and Irish National Stud all worth a visit. I hpoe you have a lovely time.
intokildare.ie is the new web site for county kildare if you fancy looking that up. You could also visit the Curragh Races, or the Punchestown Festival. Depends on what you'd like to do really!
oh yea and my new favourite thing to do is a centre called K-Bowl.
I've been following Hartes Bar in Kildare Town on Instagram and will definitely be visiting them when I'm in the area next!
You'll love Hartes Bar Lolly, great place. food is fab as well.
Will you have a car?
