Malaga Airport to Torrox by Bus/Restaurant recommendations

Hello

Please can anyone confirm the route from Malaga Airport to Torrox?

Do I need to get a bus to Malaga bus station and then one to Torrox?

Is there a timetable anywhere for December buses?

Can anybody recomend a good taxi service?

Also I am celebrating my birthday out there and would like to spend it in a good Spanish restaurant. Any recommendations please?

Thanks

Many thanks

Yes - you need to get to Malaga Bus Station first.

For times of buses to Torrox Costa (frequent service) or Torrox Pueblo (less frequent service) see www.alsa.es

Get your ticket at the ALSA kiosk prior to boarding - buses leave from stand 38.

As the 2 special occasion Spanish restaurants we knew at Torrox Costa have recently closed/changed function I will leave it to the Torrox DE Pavoreal to help with your birthday venue.

Hi MissDebs, are you going to Torrox Pueblo or Torrox Costa?

I'm not familiar with restaurants in the Pueblo so can't advise.

Torrox Costa, as Casaianda states, has lost it's best place (El Chicle).

I have a couple of suggestions

(1) Quinto Piño (5th Pine), which is situated in the side street that runs alongside the hotel Riu Ferrara, I haven't eaten there but it has a good upmarket reputation, and looking as I walk past appears quite classy.

(2) Al Monsur, on Avenida del Far, a good quality Spanish restaurant.

Is Quinto Piño still there Pavo - I was told that it had relocated to next to the Marinas de Nerja?

Quinto Piño is still open, or at least it was last Friday, whether it is the same owners or not I don't know, but the menu was the same.

The restaurant at the Marinas de Nerja is called "First" and yes, it's run by the people who had/have Quinto Piño.

I walked past El Quinto Piño this morning. Definitely open and now advertised as "THE Gourmet restaurant of Torrox Costa". Taking bookings for Xmas and New Year, so presumably intending to stay.

Miss Debs, If you are going to the Pueblo I recommend El Figon as a good retaurant but they may be closed in December. Hotel La Casa has a great restaurant too.
