Boat trips around Favignana

Hello, i will be going to Palermo this weeknd and i would like to spend a day on a boat going around the island of Favignana so i can visit Cala azzurra, Cala Rossa Beach, Grotta Perciata and Grotte dis nicola .

Just wondering if anyone has any details of where we can charter a boat with a driver and how much this would cost?

Ive read that the fishermen you would see at the port when you arrive do this kind of thing but does anyone know the cost and if they speak english? We would be happy just to go for a few hours.

Thank you!!!

Welcome to Sicily trixydafairy!

You would negotiate the rate with fishermen at the port – Some would speak “some” English.

If you’d like something a little more established, consider Sicily Gate or Favimar.

Thanks but those websites are in Italian so I can't read them! Do you gave any ideas of what fishermen would expect per hour to take us out? I don't want to overpay as we are on a tight budget!

You might try a translation site....

Sicily Gate:

Favimar:

It really would depend on the fisherman, demand, and weather, but you might expect to pay €20 for a relatively short ride of an hour or two, and as much as €35 for a boat to circle the island from about 10.00/11.00 to around 16.00.

Hi trixydafairy,

Just wondering if you used one of the operators Vagabonda listed or if you hired your own boat for you trip around Favignana?

I was looking at the links and the cheapest trip with Sicily gate is E55. I have emailed Favimar to see what their prices are as I can't see them listed on their website. However I won't be paying the Sicily gate prices :(

Vagabonda, the price of E35 you mentioned I presume this is the the entire time, not per hour? Will they take you will to good swimming / snorkeling spots? I had been planning on hiring a bike to get around but have hurt my back so think I'd be better off not cycyling :(

The rate of €35 for a boat to circle the island is for the entire time – Negotiate the rate prior to entering the boat, and tell the fisherman you’d like to swim off the boat.

Hi - We are going to Palermo at end of Sept. I really want to go for a boat trip at Favignana. Are the rates mention above for the entire boat or will we been sharing with other tourists?

My wife and i arent good swimmers so just want to go on a ride rather than a full days tour which stops for swims etc. Apart from the Grottos , what else is a must see as part of the boat trip? Im assuming the tour companies/fishermen are ok doing a custom iternary or do they have a set routine?

Also is we only do the Grottos and a couple of beaches how long will it take? Are the Grottos near the port or are they on the other side. I cant find a good tourist map for Favignana
