Golf Courses on the coast

I am planning a week of golf in the West, preferably Sligo and Mayo, and welcome suggestions re: 18 hole championship courses that play along the coast.

Thanks,

I would think that you would enjoy seeing the Cliffs of Moher, a short drive south will bring you to Lahinch, you can play the castle course or the links course. Lahinch is a great town.

Think this was a double post by Aengus which was answered before.

If you like links terrain, Enniscrone (Inishcrone???) and Carne (Belmullet), both Eddie Hackett courses, can't be beat; and you can't go wrong with Rosses Point (County Sligo). Carne, arguably Hackett's best design, was his last.

Strandhill, also in Sligo , and Connemara, another Hackett design, are two others you might like.

A consideration will be the subject of "Spare Time" ,if any.

If it's golf all the way , then go for the most

recommended . If you would like some time off to take

in the local scene ,then I would go for Connemara golf club at Ballyconneely , South of Clifden.

The club is very welcoming and has a superb club house in a beautiful setting ,the bar and food is first class. It is a links course with all the usual problems and challenges.

There is ample well recommended accommodation in the

Clifden area and the coastal scenery takes some beating.

Have a good trip.

Hi,

Highly recommend Rosses Point in County Sligo, right on the ocean, championship course, right next to Yeats Country Hotel.
