Motorway roadworks

Hi there.what are the roadworks like now on the way to and from the Gold Coast from Brisbane airport .Last Feb when we came over we were held up for quite a while and had to take a detour off the motorway for quite a few miles. Are all works completed now?

For current up to date information use the Qld Government Traffic and travel information website.

Some days and times the traffic flows freely, at other times there can be one incident and then it's a bottleneck.

Did the trip several times a few weeks ago - a couple of spots where there are works & speed restrictions in force, but no diversions or detours.

Did the trip last week. Got held up in traffic on the way up but was ok on the return. I think it will depend on normal rush hour etc but the trip was resonably ok.

No roadworks or traffic delays at the moment.

The roadworks are far too inadequate (as is commonplace in Australia in the 21st century) with governments having no foresight, vision or desire to keep up with the rest of the civilised world. So prepare for potential delays now and when the roadworks are complete! Allow at least an extra 15mins if not more for trips during peak hours. I went through there a couple of weeks ago and it was congested in the afternoon, though it did flow.

Now if only motorists would remember that it is law in Australia to keep left unless overtaking on any road with a speed limit of 90 or above...!
