Calle cardon

We are holidaying up the hill in a nice private apartment lovely large roof terrace, But it's a residential area and why does the residents allow their dogs to bark all day and another that wakes you up at 3am every morning without fail and then again at 6am. The montecastillo centre has some nice restaurants but the area is rather scruffy with people leaving plastic cups and cans, don't appear to have any wombles around to do road sweeping, don't think we will be returning here, maybe down the town next time.. anyone know of any nice clean complexes without barking dogs..

Barking dogs are very common in residential areas - it's a Spanish thing! You leave your dog tied up outside all day and let it bark at all times of the day and night, and in most cases don't take it for a walk.

Where I live there are barking dogs and even a cockerel that crows from around 6am.

I do know that the local council have a problem with the contractors who did the refuse collection and street cleaning; and it is going out to tender again.

How patronising.....you chose to stay in a residential area....so dogs barking costantly is a fact of life here.....the rubbish is mainly from tourists as residential areas tend to have less public bins etc and tourists seem to think that clearing up after them is ´´someone elses´´ job......course you could pay a ´´tourist tax ´´like the Balearics and Catalonia which offsets this cost ???

There is also the question as to whether the owners of the property, in the residential area, have a legal licence to rent out the property as a holiday let.

There are some nice holiday complexes further down the hill which are reasonably priced, like Fuertesol and Castillo Playa.
