Happy holidays :)

My family and I are holidaying in fuerteventura in August. (Fella, two kids 5&2)

We have recently read a review about the beach closest to the hotel, the review says that that beach is not the best.

We are very disappointed as our family holidays are made by the beach. (real beach buffs)

We are hoping to hire a car to take us to the best beaches.

How much does it cost?

What are the best beaches?

Having never driven when we have been away, what's it like to drive here?

We are self catering, so will be spending a lot of time out of the resort, can anyone give us tips on the best places to dine?

The best places to visit?

That's a lot of questions, I have plenty more :) but will leave it there.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you :)

Caleta has 2 beaches- 1 at barcelo which is ok and one at sheraton which is nicer, a car will cost approx 25-30 per day. The best beaches are el cotillio or the dunes?

Have a look at the photo gallery of www.caletafuerteventura.com - lots of pictures of Caleta beach, and other places around the island.

If you are wanting to hire a car I would try to book it before you go as we struggled to get one one year due to the high demand for them in August

On the beach front the nicest one in Caleta is infront of the Atlantico centre

Driving on the Island is a doddle, avoid Puerto del Rosario centre and you'll be fine, The sand dunes at Crralejo are amazing but for me the beach down at Sotavento or Jandia is the best, or the lagoons at El Cotillo.

Cicar is all inc insurance and you pay on arrival, orvpre book online at payless car hire , same vcompany and you pay on arrival :)
