Calan Bosch Beaches

Can anyone please help?

Can pedalos be hired?

Is it OK to purchase own parasolls & mats to use on beach rather than hire expensive beach sunbeds?

Are jellyfish a problem?

Are the beached clean & free of seaweed?

Do the beaches gently shelf into the sea & are suitable for kids?

We will mainly be using the smaller beach adjacent to the hotel calan bosch.

Pedalos, not sure at this beach, but if you find you can not, you can hire them on Cala Blanes, what there is a direct bus to 1 or 2 times a day. Cost of bus is 3 euro each way. To travel outside them times, you need to change at Ciutedella. Pedalos at Cala Blanes, are about 15/20 euro per hour.

You can get own parasolls, mats, and even food/drinks, but not move any of the equipment for hire, or set up camp in the area they use. The area they use, and numbers of sunbeds they are allowed to put out, is regulated by the local authority, who get paid by the company that hires them. (This is why it costs so much to hire the equipment).

Jellyfish are a problem all over Menorca, depending on what way the wind is blowing them etc. However, there is a life guard, who is also trainned in first aid (including dealing with stings). Most things they are allowed to help with, but if not, they will contact a Doctor or phone an Ambulance on your request.

I dont recall ever seeing a lot of seaweed on any local beach.

Note sure at Cala Bosh, but at Cala Blanes you can stand up till your a very long distance from the beach.

Hope this helps.
