trying to get bearings and some suggestions

I'm a bit geographically challenged on the Palm Springs area, so hoping to get some insight.

Three of us - one couple and a single - plan to be in the area first week of February. Husband has an in and out conference meeting for first couple of days, and we girls want to stay on for rest of week. Conference is at the Westin Mission Hills which I believe is in Rancho Mirage. We're looking for a nearby resort with 2 bedroom condos/townhouses. Also have family in Palm Desert ... how close is that?

Not interested in golf, and would prefer not to have too many kids around. Budget-wise - prefer not to go over $2500 for the week's accommodation ... is that realistic? We'd have a rental vehicle.

Should we be focusing on Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, or Palm Springs?

Apologies for the vagueness ... all suggestions appreciated!

Check Marriott Desert Villa

Marriott's Desert Springs Villas II

Two bedroom is approximately is about $280 a night - and with taxes, etc. about what you are looking for in a budget.

Good location.; nice property

There are other similar type places in Palm Springs so look under the hotel section of trip advisor as well.

In general, the cities there sort of roll together - Palm Springs - then Palm desert - then Rancho Mirage....

so it depends where you are in the city and where you are going to but in general 5 miles or so if you stayed here and it would be clsoe to your family.

Since its a Marriott there is also a hotel section for restaurants, spa, etc.

We like this place but check other equivalent type properties as well.

marriott.com/hotels/…

With a car, type of lodging is more important than which of 3 cities.....

There are villas at that resort, you might start there.

February is the peak of snowbird season when many rent for a month or more, it can be difficult finding the free week that you need.

You can try vrbo, or go thru an agency such as www. ps4rent.com
