Trip canceled, "back to the drawing board" questions.......

Thanks to Ma Nature, our carefully planned trip had to be canceled.......

Had booked a lovely condo in Rancho Mirage almost a year ago, but now looking at shorter notice I am not finding any available.......dates are flexible at this point, but am looking in the Feb 28 to March 7 time frame.......

If we cannot find a rental, we will need to stay at a motel or resort.....

Important to us are a quiet location, wonderful swimming pool/hot tub and cooking facilities....laundry would be nice, too.......Anywhere in the Palm Springs surrounding desert areas will be fine.....we will be staying with relatives for a few days, but wanted to get away on our own for a week or so......

We would like to pay less than $150 per night, but are willing to pay more for something reeeaaalllly nice.......any suggestions ???

Yes, I looked for hours this morning on VRBO and on the hotels listed on Tripadvisor.......just looking for feedback from anyone who has stayed and enjoyed a particular place, or who returns to a certain place over and over.......especially with current experiences......sometimes those TA reviews are old and not always really trustworthy........

I post on here all the time that we return to the Chase Hotel when we want to be in downtown PS. They do have standard room rates under $150. One block walking to Palm Canyon Dr. They have kitchens for longer stays, the prices are posted.

Here's how to tell if a TA riview is "trustworthy". If the reviewer has several reviews under their belt and has several forum contributions. Then, the reviews are by the same people who answer here. Chuck.

Depending on the days, Palm Canyon Resort is within your price range (for most dates)

http://www.thepalmcanyonresort.com/

We just stayed there in January - the hard part is finding the place so definitely use GPS or figure out your way there before you get there (signage is poor).

Once you get there however, staff is very friendly and kind. Parking in underground garage to the condo units.

The condos have a large living room, balcony (or porch area if on 1st floor), large kitchen (although a bit dated - they plan to upgrade in the next year of so), bedroom with comfortable bed; large bathroom (again a bit dated but still nice). There is no washer/dryer in the units but there is washer/dryer on each floor.

In terms of the property pool is very nice - there are 2 heated pools and hot tub easy to get to from all units. It has a nice waterfall area as well which is pleasant to hear from your unit (if you close the door you will not hear it and quiet time is after 10. Barbecue area. There is a pool restaurant and bar that operates until 10 at night.

its within a 10 minute drive to downtown Palm Springs - so good location.

Rates can vary for certain weekends so that is why I mentioned it might be in your price range as it depends when you are going.

Its an average condo - but for the price range is nice and units are large and comfy.
