Quick Romantic Vacation

I am trying to plan a short but romantic getaway for this coming weekend. Any suggestions? I am thinking one of the Georgia Islands but don't know anything about any of them. Please help!

Try Jekyll Island - lots of accom to choose from. On the mainland side the old Jekyll Island Club would be hard to beat.

St. Simons is a great place to visit. The King and Prince is a nice hotel also.

If you drove about 80 miles S of St. Simons you could visit Amelia Island. Fernadina Beach is a great town to visit. Good luck.

I agree with axle- St. Simons or my favorite- Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach.

My personal favorite is Cumberland Island. Try the Greyfield Inn.

Agree with Famof3....Cumberland Island is completely romantic! :D

There is a quaint old b&b in St. Mary's just across from the Ferry that might prove just marvelous!

Have fun!

You have two choices - crowded and touristy or quiet and relaxing For the former try Tybee or St Simons. For the latter Jekyll or Cumberland (be aware that you have to take a ferry to Cumberland.

Exactly correct!

And reservations on the Ferry are REQUIRED, so it's best to call to get the Ferry in Advance.

It's now $20 each for Adults (including sales tax) (it used to be $15) plus a $4.00 entrance fee.

Per their site:

The ferry departs Cumberland Island at 10:15am and 4:45pm. On Wednesday through Saturday during the period from March through September, there is also a 2:45pm departure from the island.

It's a 45 min ferry ride to the island. Phone: 912-882-4335 or 877-860-6787 for reservations.

Anyway, we love it there....and being outdoorsy folks, we think it's very romantic to backpack in and camp out for several nights in the back country! :D
