What type of accommodations do you like and do you have a price limit?

Check out the places in Jackson.

how about Gorham? less expensive and more remote.

I don't keep track of lodging prices, they change too often and websites are easy to find. should be able to find lodging in NC, Lincoln or Littleton close to that range. You do get what you pay for.

Waterfalls- Arathusa, Sabbaday, Glen Ellis, Jackson, Diana's Bath,

just generally along the Kanc, especially closer to NC end- to name a few.

The drive is one of the most famous in the country. Glen Ellis is very close to road and Jackson is on road. Others are more of a hike so weather matters. You can look than up for more details.

A few suggestions, If you are going to hike into waterfalls, or do any hiking, be prepared with appropriate footwear to keep you dry and warm. I don't know if there is still any snow in the mountains, or how muddy it is right now, but I would be prepared for moist ground and/or mud, with snow possible in some places. Sneakers are too porous for these conditions and you may find yourselves uncomfortable with wet, cold feet, trying to enjoy a beautiful waterfall.

Many of the waterfalls suggested do not have major hiking to get to them, but they are not paved paths. Also, you should be able to hike up the rocks and alongside the waterfalls for a good way. They are less of a single waterfall, than a series of rapids, cascades and falls along a stretch of stream or river. And this is a nice time to see them, as the water is flowing pretty full with the thaw.

Dians's Baths is a nice falls easily accessible from the parking lot along West Side Road. Some of the others are accessible along the Kanc. There are also some nice falls accessible from the road that goes up through Franconia Notch.

The Kanc is a paved road with frequent parking areas to enjoy the views. Unless there is a snow storm, it should be wide open.

It sounds like you might enjoy staying at a B&B rather than some motel along the main roads. There are many B&Bs, and this weekend is definitely low season, so prices should be good. I cannot suggest particular ones, but you may want to check the NH Tourism website www.visitnh.com. They have extensive lodging listings, broken down by region and by type of lodging. You can look at a lot of B&Bs and link to their websites, and find one that suits your ideals of charm. And there are many that will.

Hi,

We are leaning towards Conway or Lincoln. I think Lincoln would be better option as its right off 93. Would be easier to drive in on Friday evening. And would give better access to Kank and Franconia Notch.

Any place with good views?

have you looked at the lodging pages here?

Lincoln is easier drive and closer to FN but equal access to Kanc with NC.
