Canadian Rockies itinerary set for Sept-Oct. Last questions.

One again, want to thanks all the experts and travelers who help me prepare my 13 days itinerary for the Canadian Rockies for late September and first week of October: thanks specially to krp329, Frommy, Country_Wife, MuftiMix... and all others. Great advice and recommendations !! Thanks for your time !!

Sept 26 - Arrive Calgary at 9pm (overnight at hotel in Mcleod road)

Sept 27 - Visit Calgary and mabe do some shopping.

Sept 28 - Rent car in the morning and drive to Lake Louise. Visit Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. (overnight)

Sept 29 - On to Jasper early morning (via Icefield Parkway). Visit and photograph must sees.

Sept 30 - Oct 2. Three full days to visit and photograph main attractions, including Edith Cavell, Maligne Lake Cruise, etc.)

Oct 3 - On to Banff via Icefield Parkway

Oct 4-6 Three full days to visit main attractions in Banff and Yoho.

Oct 7 - On to Calgary (overnight near airport)

Oct 8 - Leave Calgary

Last questions: Where to by National Parks Pass, in Calgary or in Banff? Should I rent up to the 7th and take hotel free shuttlebus to airport, or rent up to 8th and leave car at the airport? (flight leaves around 7am). Do you know any place for buying decorative egged shaped rocks? Where to exchange Money?

You can buy the pass at the entry to Banff Nat Park between Canmore and LL. Very simple, and for the number of days you are there an annual pass would be the cheapest option. For money, just use a debit card in ATM's. No need to stuff around wasting time looking/queuing to exchange currency. Use a credit card for purchases.

Let your bank & credit card company aware that you'll be traveling here, you don't want them thinking your cards have been compromised. You should be able to find egg shaped rocks in the multitude of gift shops in Banff, Jasper & Calgary.

Have a GREAT time!

Banff Rock & Gem is sure to have your rocks. Chinook Centre on Macleod Trail will be your best shopping - huge & close to your hotel.

We also have a shop here in Jasper where you can look for your rocks - Jasper Rock and Jade, on Connaught Drive just across from the steam locomotive and the train station.
