Hi, I'm in Vancouver then going up to the rockies banff/jasper for two weeks.

First week of August is in Vanc and then 2nd and 3rd weeks of August 2014 in the Rockies.

What do you think the weather will be like? Are we talking jeans/walking trousers/woolly hat and coat or are we looking at flip flops/shoes and shorts/tshirt and a hoodie for the evenings?

Advice would be great!

Yes. Bring them all. If you're looking to save space, you might leave the wooly hat and sandals behind, but you may wish that you had brought them with you after all. You'll probably want the sandals when you're in Vancouver, and you may wish for the wooly hat on some chilly mornings in the mountains.

The temperature range between midday and and sunrise in Banff in August is between 7C (average overnight low) and 21C (average daytime high), with the record low being -17C and the record high 31C. Temperatures at higher elevations, such as Lake Louise, will be cooler, while temperatures in Vancouver will be warmer overall.
