1. Re: immigration

Unless UK folks are treated differently, you get a tourist card. Part is given back at immigrations. Save it and return when you check in to come home.

Lines are what they are when you get there. Long...short...medium....any of these.

Yup - what Co Pilot said. You'll be given a Tourist Card (visa) to fill out on the plane. When you go through Immigration, they will tear off a portion of this card and give it back to you. Don't lose it 'cos you'll need that little chit when it's time to come home again.

Line-ups are a total crap shoot; I've breezed through in less than 10 minutes and on a day when I thought they wouldn't be busy (Wednesday afternoon), we waited for well over an hour. It is what it is; there's nothing you can do to speed things up other than ensuring that your Tourist Cards are completely and correctly filled out - so make sure you have a pen handy on the plane.

3. Re: immigration

All North America, UK and EU countries do NOT have to pre apply for a VISA

You complete one on the PLANE

Cancun customs / immigration queues are always quicker than the US
