What is it like?

I stayed in Playa Blanca in October and am thinking of returning in August this year. I would like to try costa Teguise but just wanted a few reviews on what the area is like? Is there stuff to do? A town local with bars etc?

Many thanks

Lauren

plenty of decent bars and Restaurants in the area , we were AI but often went down to a bar called Robinsons overlooking the sea for a bite to eat or a cocktail .

Lots of Restaurants up to the right of the beach , had a wonderful steak in Le Hacienda (they own 3 in the area) . See a couple of Chinese/Indian buffets but not attracted by the look of them , may be ok though

We are going back in September if that's any recommendation

Playa Blanca is nice but more strung out and the best beaches are at the ends. I found PB a bit soporific in the evenings, but then we were SC so didn't have anything much on site. In CT the beaches are more accessible and the shops are close by - unless you are staying in the outskirts somewhere. CT has more to do in the evenings - bars and pubs and so on and generally easier to find some enjoyable live music, eg in the square.

We've been to PB twice and liked it but prefer CT if I'm honest. But depends on what you like - PB certainly has its devotees.

Having been going to Lanzarote for over 30 years, I can definitely say Costa Teguise is my favourite resort, now. Years ago it was a very quiet resort, with only a handful of drinking places and limited number of places to eat. Not anymore.

When I was younger Puerto Del Carmen suited me, very busy, with nightlife/clubs etc. Playa Blanca had no soul for me and I've been there a few times and not found it great for evenings. Costa Teguise has numerous bars/restaurants. A lovely square as well, surrounded by nice bars & selection of good restaurants. More bars and restaurants on the beach areas too. There are certainly enough places for a 2 week holiday, without it being loud and 'in your face'. We go at least once a year, always having one visit towards the end Nov and absolutely love it. We do self catering as prefer to eat out in the wonderful restaurants.

Well Costa Teguise is obviously my favourite resort. It's a nice size of resort for walking around and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Costa Teguise was a purpose built resort in I believe the 80's with many private residencies.

If you are looking for a chilled out resort this is the one for you.

Everything is subjective, and opinions on resorts are more subjective than most. Our two least favourite resorts are PdC and Costa Teguise, neither of them being anywhere as good as Playa Blanca.

Others will have different opinions, which are just as valid as ours.

Personally, given that Costa Teguise is not far from Playa Blanca,[Lanzarote is a small island] I would stay again in PB, as you know the area, and drive up to Costa Teguise one night and make your own mind up.

Costa teguise for me is laid back. Smallish and easy to get around. I've been 4 times over the past 4 years at different times, may, September, October and latterly over Xmas and new year. We don't stay out very late, Xmas and new year being an exception, so I really can't comment on places that are open into the small hours. What I can say is it's a lovely resort, lots of bars, restaurants, beaches, lovely beach front promenade to walk along, and not overly expensive. The square is a good place to start, and even end your evening, and it's a great place too during the day if you fancy a refreshment. It can be breezy, but you are going in August so the breeze will be welcome. Although the square is mentioned a lot there's other places where you can be entertained or just people watch, shop, chill, have a snack, coffee, whatever, it really does have a lot to offer. probs will all depend on your own preferences. I'v not been to playa blanca but would like to try it, went to PDC and enjoyed but would not go back for a holiday, as once we found CT, we found our ideal resort. It's all a matter of your own taste though, one mans meat and all that.

It seems that many people on this forum like Lanzarote. What I cannot understand is why people never venture outside of their favourite resort.

Come on people - explore a little!
