Hotel Garbi

Looking to return to Ibiza after a 2 year break. Stayed 3 times in Playa D'en Bossa (Club Don Toni and Algarb, both Fiesta Hotels). Thinking of trying Garbi as got a little more cash to spare (redundancy!!) Family of 4 - 54, 50, 21 and 19. Silly question but does the Garbi do English Breakfast or continental? Also, is there an all inclusive drinks option. Anyone stayed in Garbi and the Fiesta hotels and can say which they prefer? - Thanks!

1. Re: Hotel Garbi

these days the algarb is no longer part of the fiesta group and the garbi is a world away from places like the don toni as its style and design - modern but lurid - are aimed at the clubbin' mob. no idea about the breakfast but they sure don't do all inclusive, which in ibiza tends to be at the family end of the market. if you liked the don toni - entertainment programmes, games by the pool etc, i don't think the garbi is for you.

Thanks for getting back to me so soon. We noticed the Algarb was no longer fiesta last time we were in Playa D'en Bossa. Not really bothered about pool games etc but want somewhere smart, good food and not massively pricey, although budget is a bit easier this year due to forthcoming redundancy! The Garbi looks good on its webpages but not sure whether we would stand out as we are a bit older than some. Having said that, we have been to Space and usually pop down to Bora Bora when we are on the island, and feel very comfortable. We were also considering Palladium Palace. Have you any suggestions? - thanks

we stayed at palladium palace september 2010. nice hotel, good food, staff very good couldnt fault it in our opinion, it is a little further away from the centre than the other hotels, but still walkable and a bus stops outside the gates

Dave: Would stay where you are happy, never stayed at the garbi but have called in too visit friends. After refit seems all glitter with no substance, not sure it rates a premium.

The Paladium would be a better choice for what you want. The Garbi is noisy at night so dont expect a good nights sleep.

I guess the Garbi is primarily aimed at 30 and 40 somethings but it sounds like you're younger than your age anyway! The gym and spa is a big bonus too.

Palladium is nice too but you need to go AI to make the most of it.....

Another good option could be the Migjorn in Bossa.

The sports cafe does a good English breakfast, as does J&D's on the beach....

Enjoy.

Thanx for your reply. Think having a 21 year old daughter and 19 year old son helps! We usually spend a fair bit of time in Murphys, and also Ibiza Town. Don't get my money til end March so got a bit of time to reply. Missed out last 2 years so can't wait!!

Thanxs Danny. We usually stay out til late anyway, so sleep not a problem. Spend a fair bit of time in Ibiza Town, thats why Playa D'en Bossa is a good choice. Have thought about Santa Eulalia. Tou clearly know the Island, so what do you thibnk of that part?

Dave: Know item aimed at Danny, not sure Santa Eulalia suitable for your family, we travel up most days when in ibiza from PDB for lunch, however, place closes down by 11pm aimed at the young family market. We return to PDB for night life. Think your children would find it very quiet.

Ian- thanks, thought so as a work colleague goes there quite a lot and his tastes are a bit different. Looks as though it will be Playa D'en Bossa again, then!
