going out - music choice

Hi,

I will be guiding a large group to Ibiza mid september.

This group will be "doing the clubs"(Ushuaia, Space, you name it) but that's not my thing.

I prefer rock music.

Is there any place in Playa d'en Bossa where they play rock music so that I also have a choice what to listen to instead of "boom boom boom"? :-)

I suggest you stop complaining & over-thinking, then chill out a bit if you're going to enjoy yourself. I'm sure you can live without rock music for a few days, and you'll seem like a weirdo to the rest of your group if you're the only one hanging round the jukebox in some dingy back-street rock bar.

Sorry but he is not complaining.

Just asking a question about a kind of music.

Not everybody who goes to Ibiza is in to the party scene.

@Davie: you obviously know nothing about guiding a group nor can you respect someone's choice in music.

I think i will play Motörhead to you 5 days in a row, 16 hours per day.

So much for constructive answers. Thanks for your effort (not)

There used to be a couple of bars in the vicinity that played rock, sadly now closed. You might actually find some live stuff that gets near to rock at 'Murpheys' a large bar. But who knows what might open by the time September comes around?

Murphys Irish Bar as Rick says is the only non electronic outlet in that area. Ibiza Rocks is a good choice in San Antonio as is Flower Power party in Pacha every Tuesday night.

I should have dropped an e at Murphys...thanks Danny.

If your schedule allows it you could go just down the road to Figueretas where you will find 'The other place' if it opens again, the cleanest, smartest and most camp biker bar ever. Music, video and the most expensive beer in Figueretas.

I would recommend 'Alameda' anything goes, specialises in jazz but plays everything-soul,reggae,flamenco you name it....I've even heard modern Dutch rock there !

Correction to reply above:

should have written modern Spanish rock (rubbish)

old Dutch rock (great)

DutchTravelAgent, I was genuinely (though maybe slightly insensitively) trying to help. Sometimes it's best just to go with the flow and enjoy the moment / location. Alternatively, maybe you should just pack a Gameboy instead. I'm sure a few Tetris sessions could kill some time whilst 'Ace of Spades' blasts into your Ipod headphones over & over!
