2 nights stay - Starigrad or Hvar town ?

Hi,

We will be coming to Hvar end of July for 2 nights from Split( young couple

) where we would be staying for a night. I am confused on where to stay on the Hvar island. The top choices are Hvar town and Starigrad. We want to basically enjoy the parties, nightclubs at night and during the day relax on one day and possibly visit the VIs island (blue caves)on another day. We would like to be near the town centre so that we can easily come back after nights of hard partying plus something close to good restuarants and where we can rent out bikes/scooters.

Can you please guide on where to stay and possible apartment/vacations rental options that you recommend? (Not the hostel type)

From Hvar we then move on back to Split (planning to take the earliest ferry out) and then rent a car from Split and drive directly onto Zagreb(thru Plitvice).

Hvar Town if you want to go clubbing and partying. Might be difficult to find accommodation for only 2 nights in peak season.

if it's clubs you want you need to be in Hvar Town which is accessed via catamaran, ferries to to Stari Grad. You need to look now and book ASAP as it is getting very late and a 2 night stay is not popular in July.

It is not popular because it is the peak of the season and it is a seller's market, not a buyer's one in terms of rooms. Landlords won't like renting out for that short space of time. Hvar Town is the place to stay in based on your wants, but two nights may be difficult.

Somebody on another forum I post on went to Hvar in August on the fly and got what was probably the last room in town. I would not bank on it though...Hvar has got busier on our every visit over the years, even in June.

I must add that two nights wouldn't really be enough for an island anyway to enjoy it, and if you could stay longer you would increase your chances of finding a room without paying a hefty surcharge,

Thanks for your responses :) Ofcourse going in the peak season hurts but thats the only time we get our vacations so gotta manage it.

Managed to find a nice property called "Apartment Sanja" and the other one was "Barko rooms" available. Anyone stayed in any of these places?
