Hvar to Dubrovnik Ferry

Hi,

We are staying on Hvar, and then travelling to Dubrovnik for a few days and then back to split to fly home.

We have a hire car for the whole holiday.

Does anyone have any advice on the ferry from Hvar to Dubrovnik, I can make the dates work, but I am wondering if a 8hr ferry is a good idea or not. Does anyone have any advice on the facilities on the ferry is it comfy for example (we can not afford a cabin).

We will be driving the road between Dubrovnik and Split on the way back anyway so don't feel like I am missing out on the road.

Thanks for your help,

Ian

It is better to drive to Sucuraj and get the ferry to Drvenik then drive to Dubrovnik. It's no hardship seeing the part of coastal highway twice.

Agree that seeing the coastal highway twice is not a bad thing!

But the ferry is a lovely way to travel - you get to see a lot of the coast and Korcula Town. The seats inside are comfortable but we stayed outside the whole time with food we had brought and bought drinks only. On the other hand, driving the length of Hvar and getting the Sucaraj ferry reduces the driving time from Split and is also a good proposal. It depends if you want to give the time to do the boat really - and you probably need to enjoy being on boats.
