Sandy beaches

Can anyone tell me are there any nice sandy beaches in or near Gouvia, as a few people have said that the main beach is not that good and is not sand but pebbles, thanks.

There's an artificial sandy beach which is packed with sun beds at the Corcyra Beach Hotel .

You can get a good idea of the public village beach from this link http://www.gouvia-bliss.com/photo-gallery.php . The website also has some general info on the facilities in the village.

Nothing much in terms of sandy beaches within walking distance, the best ones are on the west coast, Gouvia is in the east

You can only get to the beach through the hotels grounds, by going through the main entrance gates and walking up the drive. It's about 10-15 minutes on foot from the town beach to the hotel gates and another 5 mins or so to the beach, either through the grounds or the main building. Mind you, it is quite small and usually packed during the day. We didn't use it at all when we were there.

Can't remember anyone checking visitors when we stayed there but as it's an all-inclusive hotel all the guests wear the tell-tale wrist bands, so it's easy for staff to check without being too obvious.

If you decide to take a look, there's also a very nice lagoon type swimming pool at the top of the drive on the left.
