Watamu stay with young children in February

We (family with 2 children, 6 and 3) are looking to go to Watamu in February. We have seen some villas that we like but are unsure if we should go for all inclusive or not. We would prefer not to be tied down if there are good and varied dining options nearby but equally if there are not we would be happy with the all inclusive options. Grateful for your suggestions.

Also, we are looking to do a 2 day (1 night safari) grateful for any advice as to where we should go for this and also what other things we should look to do during our stay in Watamu.

Many thanks in advance.

We are not exactly AI type of people so we stayed at a nice villa right in town. Able to walk to all amenities. Local eats were good for kids. Pizza, pasta, ice cream, snacks at local market, etc. The town is basically a small German and Italian village with many expats. Can't remember the name of villa, but quite new with two bedrooms, small outdoor pool but not beach front. Our kids were 4 and 7 at the time.

Hi Jane,

I recommend Little Gem they have very nice two bed rooms and 3 bed rooms Special Cottages each and every villa does have it's on Kitchen and you can prepare you on meal if want so.

The park where you can have your wildlife safari is Watatu Marine Park

good luck

Watamu is my fav place to take vacation.

Where exactly is the Villa located ?

Ocean Sports hosts a delicious, sumptuous Indian Lunch Buffet on Sundays. There's seafood, curries, rice, salads, etc.. - Don't Miss !!

Things to do: Mida Creek, Gede Ruins, Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, Butterfly Farm, Arabuko Sokoke Forest, Village Tours & Crocodile Farm in Malindi.

It's worth doing a 2N/3D safari to Tsavo East. -It's only 2 hours drive from Malindi, entrance thro' Sala gate.
