It's a timeshare resort which will be why there's potentially no reviews as they're not regular commercial holiday apartments. The other diamond resorts in PDC are reviewed . There are reviews on two other review sites......if you google club maritima Puerto del carmen they're on the first page

I have had a timeshare at maritime for 20 years .It is clean and well kept with updates every couple of years there is a nice pool but no drinking or eating around it unless brought from the bar ,there is no entertainment but it is very central to the strip so you can always find entertainment we always end up in the Dubliner, The apartments have every thing you need and reception is always ready to help .

contentedKent. Many thanks indeed for sharing that info. It's very helpful. We've been to Lanzarote many times, but never to this complex. I've swapped my timeshare for a week at Maritima so great to hear your views. Obviously read their website, but you never know when 'within walking distance' is stated. We're an early 50's couple and the fact that there's no on site entertainment is a plus for us. Also good to know about regular updates. Thanks again jane

Just at the Maritima at the moment 2 weeks mid August, our apartment 103 2 bed is well equips, pool small but clean, no rush for sun beds if you are up and about by 10am plenty of choice. small snack bar on site, choice a bit limited but then there are only 25 apartments so cannot expect vast menu with few people about. Sam looks after the bar and snacks, good breakfast, he has been here some 17 years so part of the furniture.

Our first visit here, been to all the others in the group and would certainly return. ideal for those wanting a quiet holiday, the main strip is a 10 minute walk, although the position is not central bur at the end towards the San Antonio hotel for anyone who knows the area.

Many thanks for replying. Sounds ideal. A small complex is what we wanted. Have been to PDC several times and walking not a problem. Tried to book Wimpen at playa blanca but fully booked. Also booked Los gigantes Tenerife next year. Have always found timeshare accommodation to be excellent. We've also been to Mogan, Gran Canaria, but that was few years ago. Was a bit bothered about sunbed scramble, so glad to know not a problem. We are just after an extra holiday without crowds of people round the pool so it sounds ideal. Which would you say is your favourite out of all the ones you've been to? Thanks again Jane

Jane,

they all have their own plus points, Las Calas has a lot more is a larger resort with 2 bars and evening entertainment and is more central,, however if its peace an quiet you want then Maritima is fine, small local supermarket within a 2 minute walk, bit limited but very clean, large Spar 10-12 minutes away on the front..

You will be fine, enjoy

It is a timeshare resort. The truth is that the property is beautiful, but not really a "family type" resort. Probably best for couples wishing a quiet and restful holiday. The pool is quite small but adequate for a "cooling dip" The main beach is a 15 minute brisk walk away, however there are other small bays that can be used, however be careful of the change in tides!. The beach is clean and the water clear - excellent swimming. It shelves quite gently. Couple of windy days but this did not detract from the holiday itself.

Apartments. Good size and clean with sufficient equipment. Staff. Very friendly and helpful, but the timeshare folks can be very persistent: (timesharescam.com/blog/…). The maid service is good but itermittent, the Bar area, small but adequate for our needs. Overall a good resort worth a visit

Many thanks for that info. Only two of us early 50's. love the fact it's quiet and no entertainment. Good to know that the accommodation is fine. How far would you say to the nearest bar? Not hiring a car this time, just want a bit of sun and to chilll out. Will probably eat out most nights. It's good to get some use of our timeshare, being able to swap weeks rather than paying maintenance fees for somewhere we no longer want to go to. Thanks again jane
