Just returned from another fab holiday, the weather was great apart from one overcast morning, we stayed at the Atalaya in a private apartment which were in a good location and central for everything.
We ate at some of our usual restaurants, Patio Chiquito, which was nice but not as good as previous visits, Oriental World & Enjoy which were both really nice but out of the two preferred Enjoy. Pinocchhio were you can't go wrong if you want a fab pizza, Universo where we had some really nice meals especially the steaks, this was our favourite place on the strip the food was good, the staff lovely and the place just had a very relaxed feel, it was busy every night so I don't think they need the PR on the door.Another favourite of ours is The Place where over a bit of lunch you just sit and watch the sea and people on the little cove
New places we tried were Pizza Napoletana were again the pizza's were good but the parrot squawk
ing in the background was a bit off putting ! Casa Cabana which is just in a class of its own, the meal we had in here was beautiful, the restaurant and staff are lovely, we just wish we had eaten here earlier in our holiday.
Most nights we went to routa 66 to sit and people watch, we also enjoyed the live music and happy hour in Brian Boru but our favourite place is Charlies Bar where the brilliant Question play, everyone should try this at least once as they are fab, the place was buzzing. We did notice this time that there weren't as many PR'S hanging about in fact we had no hassle at all. We did give the Island Bar ago and yes it had a good atmosphere but the place was so hot that after one drink we left which was a shame as we had heard so many good reviews on the place, they need to get some aircon sorted. The Craic & Crol was the same, fab music and atmosphere, but just too hot. We did the quiz in The Owl & Pussycat and I must say there is some very competitive people ! to us its a bit of fun but to others, people who must go nightly, it was very serious !
Walks, we did our usual walk to Puerto Calero along the cliff tops, stopped at the British Bulldog for lunch, had a wander round the market then got the water taxi back. We walked the opposite direction another day heading to Matagorda, stopping off to say hi to Keith in the book shop, it was nice to put a face to a name, we stopped off at the beer fest and were heading to the runway but it was such a hot day that we got no further than the Aussie Beach Bar where a cold pint went down well.
Trips, we always go to Tequise for the Sunday market even though a lot of the stalls sell the same wares its just something we have always done. We did a day trip to Playa Blanca a place we have been to before but decided to return, as nice as it was I much prefer PDC, PB just hasn't got the same vibe.
All in all we had yet another great holiday and are already planning our next visit, Lanzarote is our forever place : )
