Stunning holiday

Just home from a fantastic 10 night break in PDC. Stayed, as usual, in a lovely vistas del mar villa. Great location, peaceful, well equipped and heated pool went down a treat, considering the weather was stunning! Had a few days where the cloud was present til around noon, but burnt off and became v hot, and it did rain over night one night, but many days were hot throughout the day, with me still in the pool reading, vodka slush in hand, at 6.30 pm!

We took advantage of the food2urdoor service and ordered our shop before we left Scotland, with all food being put away in cupboards, freezer etc for our arrival. We ate breakfast and lunch in the villa, had 2 nights in with food delivered direct to us from pizza Napoletana and Indian Zaffran. Both fab.

We ate in Casa Cabana, La Cascada Puerto, The Big Easy, Enjoy Asian and La Cueva Del Pulpo. We love Casa Cabana and Enjoy. The Big Easy had a great atmosphere and cocktails, ate in here after ten when they were only serving burgers but these were really good. A wee bit disappointed in Cascada, with lasagne being taken off the menu and the onions going seriously downhill, change of chef maybe! Have posted reviews for the restaurants.

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the new PDC market, nice atmosphere, some really nice trinkets for sale and I especially liked the stall with fancy breads, croissants and cakes. We liked that the market is held in the evening and combined this with a lovely walk along the harbour front.

Yet another fantastic holiday and only 76 days til we go back. Well and truly got the Lanza bug and don't want to be cured!!! :-)

Claire it might be an idea to post this in the Trip Reports thread and delete this one. That way it won't get lost down the pages.

Thanks for great review ClairS

Lots of ideas for us going in just under 3 weeks.did you get menus for the 2 takeaway restaurant or just order what you'd normally do at home ?

Do you mind me asking hiw you paid for the foid delivery ..I'd like to use the service but unsure if the apartments attached to our villa would be willing to pay COD or us !

Lots if tips too for restaurants , thank you .

Finally what kind of prices do they charge for deliveries

Many thanks again for review

Thanks Danny!

Hsppycruzer, Indian zaffran now have a fab website which we accessed through the villa's WiFi. Then just simply phoned them up, they spoke very good English and were prompt.

With pizza napoletana I couldn't find a site or menu, so we just ordered basic pizzas- Hawaiian and margherita, and chips. Suppose itd be an idea to look at their menu one day you're along the strip so that you know what to order?

Both deliveries only cost a few more euros than the cost of eating in their restaurants and both delivered direct to the door.

Using the food2urdoor service is just brilliant. So convenient and a real hidden treasure. The confirmation pack we are sent for our villa booking always has a price list for the company. We then email our order and cc it to the villa owner, who allows the delivery company access in advance of our arrival. We dont pay until we arrive and do it through the villa staff, by giving then the correct money and they than pass it on to the company for us.

I wonder if you'd be best to contact your accomodation first, double check that they'll facilitate this? They would just need to allow the company to access your villa. Our delivery is in place for our arrival, but maybe you could ask for delivery when you are there if it helps? I have the email address of the company if you'd like it, ive recommended them before and know they would email you a price list, if that would help?

They do a huge variety of foods but the thing that pleases us most is that you can order 8litre bottles of water and avoid having to carry them home from the shop. They'll be in your fridge waiting for you when you arrive :-)
