Traditional Restaurant

Hi, I've visited the island loads of times and have always been very happy with the restaurants in resort (PDC). This year we are brining my daughter and her family and it's her 25th birthday while we're on holiday. We wanted to take her to a traditional restaurant for a special meal, doesn't need to be fancy just traditional and local, we have a car so travelling isn't an issue.

Ideas please?

The restaurants in Playa Quemada , only a short drive, are well worth a visit, mainly fish but seem to remember some meat and the views are lovely. La Ermita in Tias is much used by locals and offers far more than the "usual" tapas, beware of the portion size. The staff are very welcoming and happy to explain all the dishes to you. Booking is best for an evening visit.

Casa Cabana above the harbour area is beautiful, booking for a group is probably advisable in busy season. Its a traditional restaurant owned by an English couple and the food is always great quality. We have been calling here for 9 years and never a less than perfect meal. I think they have a website. Enjoy

Lots of people like casa cabana but it's not what you'd call traditional canarian fare. Mardeleva also above the harbour offers fish fresh from their boat. Playa Quemada as others have said is a good choice too.

We love to go to Casa Emiliano in Femes. A family run restaurant that has beed established for years. The

solomille (fillet steak) is absolutely gorgeous, the view is spectacular and the family asre lovely people. It's always a highlight of our holiday. We went to Lanza in June and were so disappointed that the restaurant was closed for holidays at this time but we will be back there in October. One of our favourite Lanzarote treats!!

We also love Salmarina in Playa Quemada.
