ATM withdrawal charges

I am going to be using my Halifax Clarity Credit card in Tenerife soon to withdraw cash, as I have done in other countries. While Halifax do not charge a fee for withdrawals abroad, I am wondering if some or all of the ATMs in Tenerife charge, and if so, what is the typical charge per withdrawal?

Thanks

Here's a link to a top question on the Costa Del Sol forum, and I think applies to the whole of Spain:

tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g187435-i317-k71…

It gives some good hints, I also have a Clarity Card but only used it for buying stuff, for general cash I used my Fairfx card and just withdrew €300 at a time, although when in Tenerife in March I didn't use an ATM at all as I used the card to spend on shopping in the supermarket and my friend gave me her share in cash!

I used my CaxtonFX Global Traveller card to with draw cash from ATM's in Tenerife. None charged for use of the ATM, but one bank in Los Christanios stated on its ATM that it did charge, so I went elsewhere.

I think the poster meant one bank "DID" charge as opposed to most of them having no fee

I just want to know of a ATM that definitely does not charge if using the Caxton FX card, for example does the ATM at the bank near Charlies restaurant at the bottom of the hill leading to the Mirador strip charge? any advice would be appreciated

Only one bank indicated it charged for use of its ATM. All the others I used did not charge.

I assume your Halifax card was not a Clarity Credit card?

I use my Halifax Debit Card to withdrawn cash 300 euros at a time.

Normally works out 4 cents less than the interbank rate.

But no sensible person would go on holiday with 2000 euros holiday money in ones hand luggage.

Most insurance only cover a very small amount of cash even if in a safe.

I highly recommend the Halifax Clarity Card.

I normally withdraw £100's worth of €'s at a time (€120).

If you don't have one and have time to get one, get one.
