Family Friendly All-inclusives

Hi -

Looking to plan a July 2014 trip for a group of family and friends, and wanted to gain perspective and get recommendations from all the experts here!

Although we usually don't go the "all inclusive" route, we'd like to investigate it for pure R&R on this trip.

Our Wish List (in order of importance)

1. Family friendly. Party will consist of teens, early twenties and us older folks!

2. Beach: Want a beautiful green/blue/turquoise Caribbean beach with much room to get away from others.

3. Budget: Don't want the cheapest, but finances are a factor. Hoping that July will see some off season deals

4. Restaurants / bars: I know we'll not get gourmet food, but want some variety and a decent level of quality. Availability of top shelf liquor is a plus as well.

5. Activities: Probably the least important - water sports are a plus but not vital nor are organized activities such as bingo and volleyball.

Appreciate any advice!

The most popular and appealing will be dreams la romana. This resort offers most of what you want, but pricier than the rest. Unless you upgrade , no top shelf booze. +s ; No reservations needed for the alacartes , and there is a small town to visit outside of the resort.

The second most popular would be the iberostar hacienda. This resort is as expensive as dreams, but not as big and doesnt offer the same . Upgrade for top shelf booze and VIP at a cost.

The viva dominicus palace/ beach is a bigger resort, free upgrade to VIP (top shelf booze n room upgrade). 2 resorts in one. Palace side rooms are better. Very good deal. Search the forum for some tips.

All the beach resorts in bayahibe/ dominicus are carribean calm clear beaches. The resorts are family friendly, with a big european presence. You are going to experience italian and spanish being the dominant language spoken at the resorts.

"If I were you" I would aim for last week of june to second week of july before the rate goes up ($60 to $100 per night per room) Reserve the resort of choice on their website, check for kids stay free promotions as well.

Good luck planning
