Iberostar Paraiso Beach Still Rocky?

Hey All,

This is probably a silly question. Is the beach at Iberostar Paraiso still rocky? Always loved this property and wanted to check it out. However I'm big on sandy beach and from I remember there were these large rocks in the water (??) and I'm not interested in wearing water shoes. Just making sure there hasn't been any miracle of nature that has washed them all away ;) ;)

Yeah still rocks there but just walk towards the Lindo. No rocks in front of the lifeguard stand by the beach bar.

We have never bothered with water shoes there. The rocks are big enough to see and easy to avoid.

The beach in front of Maya and Lindo are fantastic.

We had no problem walking the beach by the Maya and Lindo, and we all went into the water without a problem. We didn’t have water shoes. We were there the last week of July.

Just wondering if it is worth bringing our snorkel gear? Any good snorkeling in front of resort?

Not really any good for snorkeling in front of the Iberostar complex. Better to take an excursion or go to Puerto Morelas

Thanks. Do you recommend booking a tour before we go...or just book at the resort?

warriOr64, we always wait till we get to the resort that way we can relax and plan our week around the weather. Puerto Morelas has some good snorkeling but I think Akumal is better. Akumal is closer also so not such a long day.

We've been snorkeling in Isla Majors and Cozumel also but those are day trips.

If you dive Cozumel is the place. I'm just a recreational diver but some of the best is in that area.

I think Puerto Morelos is closer to Playa Paraiso than Akumal is.

MNhasSnow you are correct I was thinking ahead of myself and referring to Isla Majeures and Cozemel.
