What town should I visit if I have one day at Lake Maggiore?

I am an American living in Milan. Have never been to Lake Maggiore. There are trains that go directly from Milan to Stresa and Arona. I am just not sure which is better. Leaving for the day tomorrow but haven't bought tickets yet. Help! :)

The most beautiful experience you can do in a day on Lake Maggiore, is to take a boat from Stresa and visit the three islands, Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola Pescatori, with their picturesque or monumental features, and their gardens (particularly beautiful at this time because the flowering).
