Panem Tours

We are planning our fortnight holiday to Skala and have read some good reviews about Panem Tours online:

We are thinking about booking the following tours when we arrive:

Island Tour:

Ithaka Tour:

Olympia Excursion:

Southern Comfort:

Zante:

Does anyone know the current prices for these trips?

Just back...seem to recall ETAM travel were offering island tour for e18 and three island cruise i.e skorpios, lefkas, meganissi etc for e40. Avalon based in Argostoli may be marginally cheaper. Boat trips can be cancelled or curtailed due to weather. For instance this week it was quite windy at sea from Thursday to Sunday.

Went on Island Tour with Etam last week. 24 euros each, which was 1 euro less than Panem. It's a great tour!

We have just returned from our holiday to Kefalonia - based in Skala and I wanted to return to the thread to inform other travellers of what we found out:

We managed to book trips with Panem - we highly recommend this company.

We did the Island Tour which is 25 euros each. We were picked up at 7:30am and returned for 6:45pm. This tour covers a lot of the island. The guide Esme is very knowledgeable and the driver Dimitri very skilful on those hairpin bends near Assos and Myrtos Beach.

First stop was the Robolla winery - were we had a quick tour and sampled the wine.

We visited the underground Drogarati Cave (an extra 4 euros each) and Melissani Lake (an extra 6 euros each)

We stopped for a photo call above Myrtos Beach – this was stunning

We had lunch in Fiskardo - and the restaurant they recommended was very nice by the harbour waterside with 12% discount. The meal was good and reasonably priced.

We called in at Assos later in the afternoon.

We also booked to go on the Southern Comfort tour which covers the castle, monasteries, Sami (Captain Corelli filming area) and Poros. This tour costs 29 euros each. However at the last minute a party cancelled their tour and the tour did not go ahead. They offered us a refund but we rebooked for the next available Southern Comfort trip. Sadly lack of numbers meant this did not run either – which is a great shame because I feel this trip would have been even better than the Island Tour. They not only gave us a full refund but a bottle of wine too which was very kind of them. I hope to do this tour next time we visit.

We also went on the Argostoli by Night trip which picks ups around 4pm and leaves Argostoli at 9:45pm This is the BEST time of day to visit the capital and do some shopping . We wandered in the harbour, had ice-cream, a coffee in the main square, walked down the main shopping street and dined in the number 1 Trip advisor restaurant Casa Grec – the meal was excellent. This trip costs 19 euros each. I would most definitely do this trip again should we return to the island.

Also highly recommend Captain Vengeli - We booked a trip to Ithaka with Captain Vangeli's cruises – the boat leaves from Skala beach and costs 35 euros each (subsequent trips costs 30 euros each) This was very well ran and organised trip. There are two swim stops for those who wish to and they take you to Vathi (capital) and for lunch in Koni. The boat left the beach at 9am and returned for 4:30pm

Next time we visit Kefalonia we will book to go to Zante and the island cruise to Fiskardo with Captain Vengeli.
