Agios Georgios bay (in NW) for a quite holiday?

Hello All,

We are planning our Corfu holiday in the middle of August and try to find the best place for a quite, relexing holiday.

We would like to rent a budget studios with sea view for two near a pretty sandy beach and one our friend recommended Agios Georgios. What is your opinion AG is ideal for us or you have some other suggestions? Do you know some cheap accomodations in AG?

I also found the peaceful Vitalades beach in South, but it is far from every sights.

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Agios Georgios north, just a few kms south of Arillas, is probably what your friend recommended. It is a quiet relaxing place with a huge long sandy beach and lovely hills of olive groves behind it. Obviously August is the busiest holiday month so it will be busier and livelier than normal but there is plenty of room for everyone on that beach. Have a look at http://www.agiosgeorgios.info for photographs and information. There is not a great deal of entertainment to do in the evenings except eat and drink in a friendly taverna and beautiful location. Some visitors wanting more lively late-night clubbing take a taxi to Sidari.

Apart from the various restaurants in the resort itself you could take a walk along to the remote and rustic Fisherman's Cabin for a specialist fish meal under the olive groves. Or you could walk up to the lovely village of Afionas for a meal with a view to remember. There are directions to these places and other lovely walks on the web-site mentioned.

There are some studios along the beach road and others situated within a few minutes walk. There is no single database of accommodation but the web-site mentioned has contact details for some units. accommodation.
