casino accommodation deals

I am having trouble finding deals for casinos in early August

I am looking for accommodation for 2 nights ( mid week) and perhaps a show included. I am not looking to stay anywhere as expensive as the Venetian.

One other question what time is the first turbojet/ferry from near Hong Kong airport on a weekday.

Do we need to prebook shows at this time? If so what is a good site to use.

thankyou

You will get the best hotel deal by going to one of the travel agencies at the HK Ferry Terminal (their counters are near the ticket box for the ferry). They list the hotels and prices.

I would have liked to prebook our accommodation. We will be flying into Hong Kong arriving 10pm on 2nd august. . We plan to spend one night at or near the airport and then ferry to Macau in the morning and stay2 or 3 nights.

We would not be able to access deals at terminal for this reason.

Please note only transit passengers can use skypier to Macau (or China), if you spend one night at a hotel, you have to go to the ferry terminal in town.

Thankyou for pointing this fact out. We do not land until10pm.

What is the last ferry from the sky pier and also from the ferry terminal in town.

@dianejoy, by coincidence, the last ferry from Skypier is at 2200hrs(i.e. 10pm).

One of the operator-turbojet,operates round the clock for departure from HK Macau ferry terminal(Shun Tak Ctr at Sheung Wan), so if you do not wish to spend a night in HK, you can possibly catch the 1130/1145 or 1230am ferry into Macau..

As for prebooking shows, the respective websites of hotel where the shows are staged is an avenue.

On the turbojet website I read that there are departures after midnight between 12 and 7am at 30 to 90mins intervals which means we woulnt be staying in Hong Kong the first nigh.t We would go straight to Macau which means we would be in transit.

Is this right what I am assuming.

@dianejoy, transit as airline transit passenger, and the last turbojet ferry from Skypier is 2200hrs.

for those departures where you saw on turbojet website are for departures times for non airport routes, i.e. departures from HK Macau Ferry terminal in Shun Tak Centre. To reach this terminal from the airport, you can either taxi it or Cityflyer route A11 from airport and alight at stop # 4:- Macau Ferry, Connaught Road Central. Fare is HKD40.00.

A taxi from HKIA to Shun Tak Centre is around HKD350-HKD400 depending on number of luggages in trunk, and

also by the Airport Express to the Hong Kong Station in Central.

Then, take a taxi to the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal (Shun Tak Centre) at Sheung Wan.

Fare: HK$15-20 ;Journey Time: 10-15 minutes

Thankyou for your invaluable advice.

As we will have just spent 12 hours on a plane we have decided to spend the night in near Shun Tak Centre and leave on an early ferry next morning.

Can you recommend a budget hotel not too far from the ferry terminal (if possible includes breakfast).

@dianejoy, Mingle On The Wing Hotel Hong Kong comes to mind-under AUD75.00.

I have just given you one,as you mention budget, but did not indicate a figure, and I do apologise if AUD75 could be not what you have in mind.

No breakfast included ,but several eateries are available in the surroundings.

Budget hotels in HK especially with those located in surroundings where plentiful eateries are available usually do not include breakfast.

Anyway, here are few more hotels close to Shun Tak Centre:- Mercer, Bauhinia(this is a fairly new hotel-open sometime in May 2011), Ovolo to list but a few.

In respect of accommodation in Macau with show- the last time, I took up the Grand Hyatt room package with show-House of Dancing Water. Booked it direct thru hotel website.

I am confused should I be looking for a hotel Kowloon side or Hong Kong island itself for ease of acess to ferry terminal near Shun Tak Centre.
