how to go from here to there

Hello, I am scheduled to go to Macau from HK with my elderly parents on July 2014. We will be staying at Ole London Hotel. Questions are... how do we go from-to:

1. Turbojet ferry terminal to Ole London Hotel

2. Ole London Hotel to Venetian and back

3. Ole London to Fisherman's Wharf

4. Fisherman's Wharf to Senado Square

5. Senado Square to Ruins of St. Paul

6. Ruins of St. Paul to Macau Tower

7. Macau Tower to Ole London Hotel

8. Ole London to Galaxy Hotel

9. Galaxy to City of Dreams

10. City of Dreams to Ole London.

We would like to maximize the free hotel buses and if there's no other way, where can we buy a card like the octopus card in HK? A card that we can use for buses and train? We are on a budget so riding a taxi is our last option. Thank you very much for your help.

weezzah:

You have quite a long laundry list of transportation questions. You can help yourself in some planning with Google map.

>> 1. Turbojet ferry terminal to Ole London Hotel <<

Take ferry to Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal (the main one). Free shuttle to Sofitel Hotel. Walk to Ole London (about 300 meters).

>> 2. Ole London Hotel to Venetian and back <<

Walk to Ponte 14 (aka Yuet Tung Fery Terminal). About 300 meters. Free shuttle to The Venetian.

>> 4. Fisherman's Wharf to Senado Square <<

See this thread. Reply #7.

Senado Square is close to Metropole Hotel, like 200 meters of walking.

>> 5. Senado Square to Ruins of St. Paul <<

Walk. 10-15 minutes.

>> 8. Ole London to Galaxy Hotel <<

Same as to Venetian - take shuttle from Yuet Tung Pier.

>> 9. Galaxy to City of Dreams <<

Free shuttle between them.

>> 10. City of Dreams to Ole London. <<

Not sure if CoD offers shuttle to Yuet Tung Pier. If not, walk across the street to The Venetian and take the free shuttle from there to Yuet Tung Pier.

BTW:

#1) There is no train in Macau (not yet)

#2) You wouldn't want to get a card (their eq of Octopus). Too much trouble.

#3) Taxi - should distance, MOP/HKD 20, The max - like from Cotai (Venetian) to Senado Square area (your hotel), about MOP/HKD 80 - 100, not too bad.

The Galaxy is very close to the Venetian & COD is across the road (linked by an airbridge via the Four Seasons). If you organise your day, it would be better to visit all 3 in the same trip, using the Venteian shuttle bus from Yuet Tung Pier as explained by Happy Feet.

Generally, with elderly parents, taxis are easier than waiting too long for shuttle buses. Sometimes the wait can be more than an hour.

>> 3. Ole London to Fisherman's Wharf <<

Take bus 3A or 10A:

>> 6. Ruins of St. Paul to Macau Tower <<

Walk back to Senado Square area. Follow this thread. Bus 9A, 23 or 32 but they pass by different places. Walk to the bus stop "S Agostinho" (Calcada De Santo Agostinho) - closer to Macau Tower - may be easier to catch any of the 3.

>> 7. Macau Tower to Ole London Hotel <<

Bus 18. 2 stops to M180 "Rua S. Lourenco". Walk the rest.

#5, Slim H:

#3 suggested taking bus 3A or 10A between Ole London and Fisherman's Wharf. The reverse direction, still bus 3A or 10A.

Board at: M264: Dr Sun Yet Sen / Fisherman's Wharf

Alight at: M139: Praca Ponte Horta (for 10A, you alight mid-route. For 3A, this is the bus terminus)

Walk about 100 meters or so to Ole London.
