Hotel Booking from Macao.Com

I came across this site Macao.Com while searching online and it appears they are based at Macao and provide Hotel Bookings for Macao & Hong Kong only. I observed that Best WesternTaipa pricing at HKD/MOP 365 on a Sunday with Breakfast and this looks quite attractive for me.

Was planning to book with the, any feedback on this.

I have already tried checking various other website like asiatravel, asiarooms, bestasiahotel, ctrip, elong, wotif and could not find this rate. The other Hotel rates are almost same similar to other sites.

I don't know how reliable macao.com is, but as it is apparently run by THE business family in Macau it could certainly afford to offer generous discounts ...

That rate sounds like a real bargain - just check out the fine print and find out if there are any "booking" or other charges.

Best Western Taipa gets mixed reviews, but is at least quite convenient to public transport although not on Macau peninsula.

I have just returned from my Macau,Hong Kong trip and everything went as per schedule. After posting the above i did take a risk and had done the Hotel Booking thru this site for Hotel Guia & Hotel Taipa and everything went fine. Infact a week before my journey i did send emails to respective hotels to confirm on the Hotel Booking and both the Hotels confirmed they are booked.

I had booked at Macao.com after doing 4 months of research looking for the best deals for Macau Hotels and no other site could offer the deals which were specific to my requirement. I see that Macao.Com is being maintained by Macau locals and observed few Taxis being painted with Macao.Com Advertisements, so looks like they have just started getting agressive.

Hi.

I'm looking to book through Macau.com as well.

The hotels that come up: Royal, Guia, Presidente, Star World etc., which are the better choices of them all in terms of location?

And what prices are they in? at ~$400, are they in US or MOP??

If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.

Regards

David

Yes, macau.com is a little confusing. They are displaying HKD on the front page, then USD when you investigate further. Basically a 5-Star Hotel such as The Wynn is about US$250 a night (and up). So, use that as a base to work out what is what. As a comparison, you could use wotif.com.au.

Star World is fairly central. Hotel reviews on TripAdvisor might also help. Try using googleearth to look at exact locations of hotels/attractions that you like. Macau is relatively small, so a taxi from one end to the other doesn't cost a fortune.

Two months back when i first came across this site searching thru google all the rates were displayed in MOP, but within few days observed that while doing the Bookings Search all the prices are displayed and charged in US$. Overall the pricing remains the same. But as mentioned by you on the Advertising Banner they do display in HKD.

Hi Deyveed. All the hotels you mentioned are fairly central. For locations you can also check out the interactive map at www.macautourism.gov.mo

If you click on the purple square just below the map it will show all the hotels on the map. Clicking on other symbols will show other things like restaurants, casinos and other tourist attractions.
