Help with ferry from Macau

Hi guys,

We are reaching Macau on the 5th of this month, staying there for a day n then heading off to HK.

We are staying at the Nathan Hotel, Kowloon so which ferry should we take from Macau which would have a stop in Kowloon?

Please do let me know since I am getting a tad confused between taking the Turbo Jet and First Ferry. Thanks a lot.

First Ferry is the one you want. Tsim Sha Tsui is in Kowloon.

To be sure of getting the ferry at the time you want, best to buy the day before. However, on Thursday it shouldn't be busy.

Hi drumbrake,

Thansk for that. On a separate note, any idea how far Rio Casino is from the Macau Airport and what the cost of taxi would be?

R there prepaid taxis at the airport?

Thanks.

15 minutes by taxi and around MOP50. No prepaid taxis, although taxis generally use meters so not a problem.

No problem, you're welcome. I'm sorry I haven't been to Macau nor Hong Kong so I can't help with your other questions!

Hi KY13, hope this reach you on time, just some housekeeping to make your trip smoother.

Rio Hotel +Casino,in Macau Peninsula, firstly check with hotel,as they might have a shuttle bus to the ferry terminal(so saving you some cost).

Ideally, will advise to take the New World First ferry which arrives at China Ferry Terminal(Kowloon). If you take the 1030hrs ferry, you save a bit with its concessionary fare. This will cost you MOP135.00.You can pay with credit card.

Upon reaching China Ferry Terminal, exit onto main road, and take a left turning, and you want to head towards Jordan Road.

As for taxi fare(firstly, they do operate on meters,no prepaid), they charge MOP3/piece of baggage,so from Rio to Macau International airport,by taxi, with say one piece of baggage should be around MOP54.00.

When you arrive at Macau, and for the taxi to Rio hotel, there is a surcharge of MOP5.00,and do use the taxi ambassador,as most taxi driver, may not understand the hotel name in English.

Remember to pick up you free tourist information when you arrive at MFM. This will include a map with names of hotels and other attractions in both English / Portuguese and Chinese.
