Sea in Kos Town

Hiya,

Is the sea warm around Kos ? We have been to Zante and loved the warm sea and then went to Rhodes and the sea was a bit colder.

Also is there any jelly fish in the sea? Well i know there are jelly fish in all seas but is it common to see jelly fish in Kos?

thanks

The warmth depends a lot on the time of year - the sea gradually warms up during the summer and its quite a lot warmer in September/October than in May/June. If you want really warm seas on Kos, go to Therma Beach where there are underwater hot springs.

Last week the sea was 21°C warm and we were in it every day. And we were not the only ones !!

Cool at first but fine once you're in. Especially after sweating from the heat.

In october the sea was about 24-25°C. Feeling really warm (to me).

I agree - never seen a jelly fish is 14 years! As to the sea temperature it depends where you are on the island - in Kefalis the sea is always cool and quite calm - lovely to cool down in and clear to snorkel - but if you go to mastihiri or other beaches on that side of the island the sea is always warmer but much choppier - fun for messing about and warm enough to stay in for ages but no good for snorkelling. Hope this helps
