There are loads of taxis outside the airport. it should cost around 32 BBD. Make sure to ask the driver if it's BBD and not USD.

Transfer time from the airport to St Lawrence Gap is about 15 minutes in a taxi, there will be plenty outside the arrivals hall. Should cost you about $35BDS, the fare should be agreed with the taxi co-ordinator and the driver before you begin the trip, the cost can vary depending on the number of people travelling

The posted fare to St. Lawrence Gap is $31 BBD. It is $47 BBD if you have excess luggage.

What does excess luggage mean? Is it any luggage or if you have lots of luggage and need a bigger vehicle?

Airport taxi fares are regulated by the government, the taxis have an “Authorised Airport Taxi” logo. There is a taxi co-ordinator present who will take your information and arrange for a taxi on the spot, at this point the fare will also be agreed.

If you request a small van at the airport or any vehicle bigger than a car, you’ll have to pay more than the standard fare for a car. If you’re traveling with several large bags, the airport taxi co-ordinator might automatically place you in a small van. If you think that a standard sized car will accommodate all your luggage and passengers then insist on a car as it will be cheaper than a van.

The website below gives the average rates for local journeys, from recollection I seem to remember paying about $40 - 45$BDS to take a small van from the airport to St Lawrence Gap rather than the standard fare of 31$BDS.

Thanks for the very useful info. My husband & I will have 2 normal sized suitcases and 1 piece of hand luggage so a car should do. The company we are travelling with want to charge us 45 BBD for the transfer (shared) so we will be going with a taxi at 31 BBD. It will be quicker. We will be arriving with US dollars and sterling. Are we better to pay in either currency or change a bit at the airport to pay in BBD? Thanks

US and BDS funds are interchangeable at the rate of 1 US to 2 BDS.

Just make sure your quote is in BDS funds.

Thanks. Will do that so the 31BDD should be 15.5 USD. How much tip is usual for a taxi?
