Cayo Coco/Guillermo Resorts

We are deciding on a winter vacation to Cayo Coco or Guillermo. We have been to the Melia Cayo Coco, but would like input from fellow Cuba travellers who have been to other resorts on these Cayos. We prefer a nice pool - decent food - nice beach and would like a smaller resort, but will go to a larger one if it's nicer.

Have been looking at Iberostar, Blue Bay, Tryp and Oasis Playa Coco.

Any and all recommendations would be appreciated.

Of the four you mention the Iberostar Diaquiri would definitely be my choice by a mile.

I totally agree with bellagio. I've been 4 times to the Daiquiri and it just gets better.

I don't know much about Blue Bay....but as far as the other hotels go....I agree! Iberostar for sure!

Have just got back from iberostar where we stayed for 3 weeks. Dont know about the other hotels but loved where we were (rooms are pretty basic but youre not in them much), and will definately go again next year.

I'd give the Blue Bay a couple years to season. The Tryp is more like a Club atmosphere and bigger than the others. Very popular for school break teens. Can be busy. Daiquiri Would be my choice of those hotels, if I Wasn't going to the Sol Club Cayo Guillermo.

Hi

Have just returned from the Sol Cayo Guillermo.

Food is awful. Pool is lovely. Beach amazing. There are so many things wrong with the Sol that I would recommend trying another Hotel. Daughter and I still suffering from upset stomachs we have been back since the 2nd September. Daughter had severe electric shocks from the wall lights and has been on meds since the return and she has not returned to school yet.

If I was you try the Guardalvaca area Paradisus Rio De Oro. Adults only though.

the iberostar Daquiri would be my choice, i loved it there, food was good by cuban standards, pools were nice, beach is small, but very nice.

give it a try, you will love it.

pjrlandon:

The Iberostar Daiquiri has come out on top by a mile, so has that convinced you to book it?
