There is plenty of shade. There are palapas there. You have to pay 2CUCs per chair but it is not a problem since the beach is so well maintained and security is good too.

We have been there twice (before noon), both times we were able to find loungers with shade!

We just returned and spent 1/2 day at Pilar. There were loungers under the palapas widely available. The lobster/shrimp lunch was delicous.

We drove down to Playa Pilar at the end of the day, from the Sol. The last of the last workers were leaving and Dee and I had the whole place to our selves.

Shared a bottle of wine and basically , stared out in to the Blue!

Walked along the beach and realized, again, that this is a very special place in the world!

If I would have died right there,it would be just fine! Knowing that I was just that much closer to Heaven!

Kinda sounds like a corny Pick Up Line! lol

Salud!
