Melia Cayo Guillermo

I am thinking of booking a trip to the Melia Cayo Guillermo in July 2013. I was reading that the hotel was close for renovations in Summer 2011 and again in 2012. Whist this could be seen as positive it could also mean that the hotel is in general poor condition. Can anyone help?

yes renovations were done in summer 2011, but the 2012 closing had more to do with low bookings, thus being more cost effective for them to close entirely during low season.

the hotel is`nt in a poor condition, as most of the rooms were refurbed the yr befor last..

it closed last may due to TC pulling out, but opened up again after a few wks..

the hotel will be on the quiet side when you go ok..

enjoy your stay..
