Hi guys!

Yes ,Lenny got to a game .

One of the best games I've seen to date!

Ciego and Cienfuegos.

3 game series started Friday night with a rain out. "Double Header" on Sat. aft. (Split )

Big Pito Abreu smack 2 Hr's in the second game for the win.

So the stage was set in the Sunday afternoon game . Ciego scored first, as Cienfuegos out hitting the Tigres but couldn't tie it up until late.

Great pitching and super defence by both clubs.

Elephantes pitcher, Hernandez , gave up a one out hit in the bottom of 7.

Pitching Coach, Manso started bringing in his relievers. . One out ,with a man on second, so they intentionally walked the next batter to try for a double play and get out of the inning.

Then, a new pitcher came in yet again.

Now, The biggest event of the game! They pulled off a "Double Steal" and caught the visitors completely off guard. The crowd went crazy! The next batter was walked again.

Bases Loaded , 1 away.

Who would have thought the next pitch would Hit the batter.

Well, The place when Bonkers!

2-1 with 6 outs to go.

Ciego D'Avilla leads the league, with over 83 double plays. Probably more now. They pulled off a couple to clean up the bases, as Cienfuegos was threatening in both the 8th and 9th .

In the end , the right team won, and every one danced their way out of the stadium.

I managed to talk to The Closer ( Monster) and Mario Vega outside the stadium as the players seemed to be very free to mingle with their fans.

A great day was had by all!

Belagio,95 cuc for 100 cnd at the daiquiri and 90 at the reseption at the Sol. They got you by the short and .....!

Sulud!

Sorry, that should read Salud!

Forgot about the Meet and Greet.

YEs, Management O.K.ed it at the Cubanito. Wondered how many were coming. Didn't have a clue who would show up.

PansyPotter and Julie Smith Along with their escorts. Also a couple from Cornwall, who's Handle I've forgot.

So I guess there were 10 of us drinking Beers and pitchers of banana Daiquiris .

It was a very nice day and possibly the reason for a low turn out. Hard to leave your spot on the beach....

Thanks to the Girls for making the effort to walk over to the Sol. Pansypotter came from the Daiquiri and Julie and Andy made the trek from the Cojimar.

It was nice to put a face to the forum posts.

Thanks again Girls!

Keep on Rockin, Angela!

Thanks, Cuba C and Cuban K

I received an explanation from Public relations regarding the poor reviews .

It seems a rogue poster went off the wall, for some reason.

The strangest thing being that he was a Cubano!

The second week we were there, the hotel set an attendance record. Although there were a few line ups for the buffet at dinner, which were controlled for seating, the resort never skipped a beat during the busy times. A true testament to the staff that kept everyone happy and running smoothly.

Carlos was not our barman for the event. That would have been great. We talked about you and Pat, at length.

The new lobby bar is an important addition to the resort. Great selection of drinks. It takes some pressure off the main bar. One thing Melia could invest in is a big ceiling fan in the lobby bar area. It gets a little warm and could use some air movement. As does the computer room.

Carlos and Yamila are a great team.

Cubankid. You are most welcome to walk over and have a drink or a bite for that matter. I did not notice any guests for the Melia.

Hope you both have a great upcoming vaxcation!

The lobby bar is excellent especially for old codgers like us.

It provides a quieter alternative to the other bar.

The 2 staff serving were excellent!Very friendly and a quick efficient service.
