Tips for Fiji Hideaway

Hi there,

Anyone got some tips for making the most of our time at Fiji Hideaway on the Coral Coast - places to eat with great food, local attractions, cool things for the kids to do (places for hair brading etc)? We are happy to catch a local bus or taxi but would love to see some of the 'real' Fiji while there...

We plan to see the Kula Eco Park, the waterfall and of course the beaches, but any other tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Jeanie

There is a school just a short walk away. The kids loved our visit. We took some supplies along (textas, balls etc) & gave a small donation.

There is a great hut for massages, hair braiding etc at a good price. Walk out front of resort and turn right, probably 200 metres along the road. You can also walk along the beach at certain times to get to it.

Take some laundry powder in a zip lock bag, nice to get some washing done. (Well it was for us after coming from an island where we'd been for a week)

There is a bus stop just out the front of the resort, we caught it into Sigatoka which was a fun experience.

You will love Hideaway. The Fijians can't do enough for you. We had all inclusive so ate most of our meals at Hideaway.

Thanks Luv2Travel! That is great advice, we will definately visit the school and take some supplies!

I will also take the laundry powder as suggested - so I don't have to pack as much clothing for the kids ;)

Also, pleased to hear about the bus stop - we don't have the all inclusive package - but it sounds like we can catch the bus into town for lunch if we want to.

Thanks again!

all as was said above.................

there is also a little pub down across the road which has beap eats/drinks. Can either walk along beach or walk along road.

Close to the outrigger on the sunset strip are a couple of nice eateries as well. Kokos and Le Cafe are well worth a visit.

There is also a lady in Sigatoka who will come to you at the resort if you like for hair braiding. Check her out on Facebook. Fijis Best Braidings is the name of her page. The hut at the end of the resort was great for massages and did a great job on my daughters hair last year but when we got home I discovered her hair was full of lice!! Can't truly say she got them from there but they do seems to re-use brushes and hair ties for other people. Good luck, you'll love Hideaway. Don't forget to head up to the sunset bar at the Warwick for a cocktail one evening ($15 cab ride) and check out the sunset from up there.(My profile pic on here was taken at the Sunset Bar) It's well worth a visit. We would never stay there (Too big!!) but it's nice to check out the shops and see another resort.

Thanks guys, we dont have an all inclusive package so will definately head out to those eateries for lunch/ dinner and drinks. It's great for some help to choose where to go, especially for short stays. Thanks also for the tips for the hair braiding - Fiji's Best Braidings look great :)
